Biography

Dr Victoria Akhras is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London โ€” a busy teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre for skin cancer, and home to one of the largest skin cancer screening and treatment services in the UK. Alongside expertise in general dermatology, her interests include skin cancer, dermoscopy and connective tissue disease, and she is the dermatology lead for melanoma at St George's.

She was clinical lead for dermatology at St George's for nine years and co-lead for the South West London Dermatology network for two years. She is a faculty member of the British College of Dermatology, for whom she has designed skin cancer courses for healthcare professionals, and was President of the St John's Society for Dermatology in 2023/2024. She co-produces The New Dermatologist, a podcast series on dermatology.

She graduated from Imperial College London with honours in 2000, and in 2010 was awarded an MD for research into lymphatic function and its role in the spread of melanoma.
